Health Canada is planning to update its process for completing electronic product license applications (ePLAs) for Natural Health Products (NHPs) in the spring of 2018.
In June of 2017, Source’s own Krista Coventry (Director of Regulatory Affairs, Eastern Canada) participated in an industry webinar entitled “International Insights: Inside NAFTA and Opportunities Overseas”. Hosted by the U.S. Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and Natural Products Insider, the webinar provided insights into implications of NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) for dietary supplements and ingredients.
Over the last decade, Health Canada has pursued a varied approach aimed at reducing the trans fat intakes of Canadians. This includes taking actions on things like: mandatory labelling of trans fats in the Nutrition Facts table, setting criteria with regulations for the use of “trans fat free” claims, as well as the appropriation of voluntary targets for trans fats in processed foods guided by a monitoring program.

We wanted to take an opportunity to introduce them to you and showcase their unique skillsets and how they make us an even stronger and well rounded company. The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), a leading trade association for the dietary supplement industry, is the driving force behind the newly launched industry Supplement OWL (Online Wellness Library).
