It's been a day of celebration since 1868, where many festivities are held across the nation.
As we grow, learn, and progress: we also try to balance Canadian pride with reflection on a difficult past.
SNI recognizes that our history began long before the First Canada Day.
Canada is part of Turtle Island and supports continued education about our shared history with many distinct Indigenous communities and nations. We believe that these conversations are part of the work needed to achieve necessary Truth and Reconciliation goals.
