We interviewed the latest addition to our team just in time for the spring issue of reSource 2026–meet Lindsay Gwozdz!
Lindsay is SNI’s newest Graphic Designer

Lindsay is a graduate of the Digital Multimedia Technology program at Red River College Polytechnic (2007), with a career rooted in catalogue layout and flyer design across the RV and sporting goods industries.
Over time, she developed a strong focus on packaging design, where she found her core creative interest and specialization. Her transition to SNI reflects a deliberate shift toward aligning her technical design expertise with brand-focused packaging and regulated product presentation.

Q: Tell us a little bit about what got you here – your education and your passions that brought you to be part of our graphics team?
I always loved to draw as a kid, as my paternal grandmother was an artist herself. She taught me a lot of basics and was always encouraging my creative side. When I was a little older, I used to copy my sisters Pokemon cards, and spent a lot of time in commercial art and fine art classes in high school! I moved to Winnipeg from Brandon out of high school to take Digital Multimedia at Red River College. Originally, I majored in Video & Motion Graphics, but careers in Winnipeg are scarce and I naturally ended up in more traditional graphic design positions.
Q: What do you find to be the most inspiring or interesting part about designing packaging?
I liked the idea of seeing something physical and tangible at the end of the project. Something you could have not only your client see, but any person could pick up the product you designed and possibly be influenced to purchase it because it looks appealing to the end user.

Q: What are you passionate about besides your work?
Much of my life is consumed by my other job title of Mom! My two daughters keep me busy, but when I do have some time to myself I enjoy finding new music and movies, and am part of a dinner club, so we love checking out new spots across the city when we can. I love planning vacations. Had I not gone into design, I would have been a travel agent! I am also a lover of anything Halloween year-round.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you have heard and repeat to others?
“Everything is temporary.”
Whether you’re having a great time or a tough time!
Fun times can be fleeting, and hard times won’t last.

My own personal motto: “You can justify anything.” A person will be right in their own mind, and sometimes you just won’t be able to convince them otherwise … helps keep me mindful of other peoples’ perspectives.
Also applicable in whether you deserve a little sweet treat. Which is always justifiable.

Q: How do you get inspired?
Since moving into more food and package-heavy design work, I now see inspiration everywhere I go. As a mom, I’m always at the grocery store, so suddenly my perspective on the way items look or read on the shelf in a store have new influence on me!

Q: Who are the people who have influenced your aesthetics and your approach to design?
I have a lot of artistic blood in my family, so I have my Nan to thank for the fundamentals! And it’s actually quite interesting to see how much you can do if you just have the basics down. Rule of thirds, alignment and balance, use of white space, limited typefaces, etc. The rest of the design can be fun if you have a solid foundation.
For a couple of cool artists I follow, check out @austinpardunart and @kalbarteski (who is a local Winnipegger!)

Q: Finally, if you had to describe yourself in just 3 words to someone, what words would you use?
Creative, Supportive, Thoughtful.
