Read on to learn more about Ani and the expertise she brings to our team!

We’re all so excited to have you onboard! Can you share a bit about yourself, and tell us about the journey that led you to SNI?

I’m excited to be part of the SNI team as well!

University of Guelph logoI’ve been working in regulatory affairs for 15+ years (how time files), I spent 14 years at a major CPG company in the natural health industry before coming to SNI and have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph in biomedical and political sciences. I also have a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Toronto – where I worked with my supervisor (a titan in this space) to create consensus on natural health product programs for Pharmacists in Canada.

Regulatory was the perfect fit for my academic pursuits and my exact/attention to detail nature.

Regulatory compliance helps protect our customers, our stakeholders and our community. What is it about regulations that kept you interested?

Customer safety is always number one to me, when I review a label or formula for compliance, I know people I love could be consuming this product and I keep that at the front of my mind always! In all my years in regulatory, I can’t say I’ve ever been bored! There is also more to learn, new markets and product categories to explore, not to mention changes in policies and the evolution of science that keeps us all on our toes!

You have a day off! How do you like to spend it?

I love galivanting with my girlfriends around Windsor/Essex county – shopping, taking in local restaurants and wineries. On longer holidays, I can usually be found with my family in the GTA – my parents, brother and sister-in-law, and my nephews aged 3 and almost 6.

Lastly, do you have a fun regulations fact to share with us?

The Natural Health Product Regulations (NHPRs) are now 20 years old (1994), and were written by a collaborative group of academic and industry experts including my Master’s degree Supervisor Dr. Heather Boon.

Ani's expertise and bright personality is an important piece of our elaborate and unique team, and we wouldn't be able to deliver the quality of solutions without her. Connect with Ani on LinkedIn here.
